I joined ORRA to ensure that the organization should thrive and continue to provide insurance and guidance to road riding clubs so that they in turn can continue to enhance their communities and charities they support. I want to see ORRA become truly Provincial in representation and take a more pro-active role in ensuring motorcyclists rights and freedoms.
My duties require me to provide leadership and guidance to the membership and other executive members. They require vision and stewardship for the organization as a whole.
ORRA goals are to raise awareness of motorcyclists as both individuals and as a group. To that end we have expanded our awareness campaign, implemented an annual safety and riding refresher, and started to lobby government on behalf of our fellow motorcyclist. A fond memory is my daughter running away from the garage with her ears covered every time I rolled the motorcycle out. Then in her seventh year she came to me and asked if I would take her for a ride. It made my day and was the highlight of my summer, as we went on to enjoy many wonderful rides together. She is actively involved now as she helps me in the ORRA booth at the motorcycle shows and has her eye on the vintage Yamaha in the garage.
In the next few years, ORRA will start to take a more political role in ensuring motorcyclists rights, as we have started to witness an erosion of those rights in other jurisdictions. It is imperative that we fight these battles before the legislation is passed, rather than try to have it rescinded. The current Executive will continue in our efforts to de-centralization ORRA from the Greater Toronto Area into the province as a whole, and increase our safety focus. These initiatives should help us increase our current membership and hopefully in the next few years achieve an all time high for membership. ORRA will also try to increase our visibility to the relevant Ministers, and participate at the national level through the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada.
ORRA is the largest Ontario provincial road riding association, but we must recognize that we are not alone, as there are significant groups of off-road riders, and national associations also in Ontario. We must actively pursue relationship with these groups if we are to affect change and protect the future of motorcycling.

I have been riding motorcycles since 2000 and have been a member of Motor Maids Inc., an “all ladies” riding group since 2003. I take pride in the fact that while I ride a motorcycle, I am still a lady. Last season, I travelled the “Rock” in NL and previous my journeys have included New Orleans, Wyoming, Michigan, North Carolina, Maine, Indianapolis to name a few. I was the District Director for Eastern Canada Motor Maids for 3 years and enjoyed bringing and growing our members with our ECN website, Face book, newsletters, a new district t-shirt and enjoyed various events throughout the year including our annual Motor Maid Convention as well as bringing together the Atlantic Canada Motor Maids in an annual rally. In 2008, I submitted an application to have our first Canadian Motor Maid, Audrey Alexandre inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. It was a proud moment for all of us. In 2012, I arranged for our
members to ride with Laureen Harper, the Prime Minister’s wife and visit 24 Sussex Drive on International Female Ride.
I am currently the Chair of the Society of Ottawa Area Riders (S.O.A.R). We promote a passion for positive and safe riding and were the first community association to partner with MTO in launching “Keep an Eye out for Motorcycles” during the month of May for Motorcycle Awareness Month. SOAR is
a resource in group that keeps a calendar of riding events, promote biker awareness, represent local rider interest at the municipal, provincial and federal levels with legislative issues with ORRA and MCC so that we can be "voice of the motorcycle riding community in Ottawa.”
I am looking forward to representing ORRA as Director of Member Relations and hope to foster great relationships with motorcycle clubs in Ontario and also bring awareness of our passion for riding on a provincial level.
My choice of ride is Harley Davidson Electra Glide. I currently own a 2008 FLHTPI oh and I own a dirt bike too! My previous rides include Honda Shadow 500 cc, 1987 HD Sportster (883) and 1991 Electra Glide (1310).
